All In for Our Schools: Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament Raises $13,000+

From the Poker Table to the Classroom

The cards were shuffled, the chips were stacked, and the stakes were high at this year’s Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament! On an unforgettable night of competition and camaraderie, over 200 attendees, including 116 skilled players, gathered to test their luck and strategy—all for a great cause.

After an intense 30-minute head-to-head showdown, finalists Billy Hoffman and Chris Swirtz found themselves at a standstill. In a dramatic finale, they decided to deal one last hand face up to determine the champion. In a moment that seemed destined by fate, both players were dealt the exact same hand! With an undeniable feeling that it was meant to be, Billy and Chris agreed to split the pot and were officially named Co-Champions of the tournament.

But the real winners? Our local students and teachers! Thanks to the generosity of our players, sponsors, and supporters, we raised over $13,000! These funds will go directly toward teacher grants, enriching classrooms and providing valuable resources to benefit our kids' education.

Looking Ahead: Save the Date for 2026!
Mark your calendars! We can’t wait to welcome you to next year’s tournament, set for
Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Fenton Hotel Tavern & Grille. If this year was any indication, it’s bound to be another incredible night!

A Special Tribute: Honoring Beau Curtis
During this year’s tournament, we also took a moment to celebrate the generosity and kindness of our 2024 Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament winner,
Jeremy Juhl. Jeremy was presented with the street sign he won last year, honoring his late friend Beau Curtis.

Last year, just days after Jeremy’s victory, Beau tragically passed away. In an incredibly moving tribute, Jeremy renamed Leroy Street in Beau’s memory and selflessly donated his winnings to Beau’s family. His heartfelt gesture is a testament to the true spirit of our community—one that goes beyond competition and embraces support, friendship, and giving back.

We appreciate everyone who joined us in making this year’s event such a success. We look forward to seeing you all in 2026 for another night of fun, fundraising, and fantastic poker!
